Trick-or-Treat in Metro Vancouver

Halloween lands on a Saturday this year, so the kids can trick-or-treat in daylight and you can actually enjoy the walk. Vancouver rain is always a possibility, so we’ve included plenty of covered options: warm malls, indoor shopping streets and community centres where little ones can fill their bags without getting soggy. Looking for something calmer? We’ve flagged the sensory-friendly stops for kids who find big crowds overwhelming. Below you’ll find where to go across Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Surrey, the North Shore, Coquitlam and Langley, with 2026 dates and time, so you can plan your route before the costumes come out.

Tips for Halloween in Metro Vancouver

  • Go early to Trick-or-Treat in Metro Vancouver. Mall and street events often run “while supplies last.” Arriving in the first hour gives the best selection and shorter lines.
  • Plan for rain. Indoor malls are the most weather-proof picks. For street events, bring a clear umbrella or a rain shell that fits over the costume.
  • Bring your own bag. Many events, including Halloweenie and Sea to Sky Gondola, ask kids to bring their own treat bag.
  • Take transit. many places are easy to reach by SkyTrain or bus. Parking is limited at most Oct 31 events.
  • Stack events on Saturday. With Halloween on a Saturday, you can do a morning event (Halloweenie), an afternoon mall or street crawl. At night, you can check out the local fireworks. Check our Halloween Events page for places doing fireworks that night! (metro-vancouver-halloween-best-family-events/)
  • Food allergies? Look for teal pumpkins, which mark non-food treats, and check treats before kids dig in.
