Metro Vancouver: Things to Do During the Summer

Summer is just around the corner and there are so many things we’d love to do with the family. Here are some ideas that you might want to add to your summer bucket list.

Explore BC

Staycation: stay at a local hotel with the family and enjoy the amenities and explore local shops and restaurants
Victoria: there’s definitely a great food scene happening in Victoria and lots of fun activities to do with the family. Our Victoria posts talks about where we stayed, attractions, and food:
Harrison Hot Springs: we love the hot springs and it’s always hard to pry the kids out of the water. During the summer, there are a lot of local water sport activities. For more details, here’s a link to our last year post about Harrison Hot Spring: Explore BC: Harrison Hot Springs
Whistler: Summer is a beautiful time to visit Whistler, with so many outdoor activities like hiking to swimming in the lake. For more ideas, check out our adventure at Whistler: Explore BC: Whistler
Kelowna: Though it’s been a few years since we’ve been to Kelowna, there are many activities to do there. We visited the Kangaroo Creek Farm where we got to hold baby kangaroos. If you love wine, there are a lots of wonderful wineries to explore.
Camping: Camping is always a nice getaway where you can unplug from the busy city life.

Summer Camps

There are many wonderful summer camps offered in Metro Vancouver from STEAM classes to water sports. We just registered the kids in summer camps and am looking forward to hearing what they’ve learnt. For a list of local summer camps, check out: Summer Camps in Metro Vancouver

Outdoor Activities

Playgrounds: Check out our recent posts on the best playgrounds around metro Vancouver:
Bike Rides, Rollerblading, Scootering: Some of the best areas to go bike riding, rollerblading, scootering is around the Sea Wall, UBC, Stanley Park, etc.
Hiking: There are many great places to go hiking such as Deer Lake (Burnaby), Lost Lagoon (Vancouver), Pacific Spirit Regional Park (Vancouver), Barnet Marine Park (Burnaby), Quarry Rock (North Vancouver)
Beaches: Metro Vancouver has many beaches. These are some of our favourite beaches – Jericho Beach (Vancouver), Spanish Banks Beach (Vancouver), Centennial Beach (Delta), Locarno (Vancouver), Lions Bay (Vancouver), West & East Beach (White Rock).
