For this year’s spring break, we decided to surprise the kids with a trip to Disneyland. While there were a lot of hotel options in and around Disneyland, we booked Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground, which is a 10 minute walk to Disneyland. The hotel features a fun-filled water playground, complete with water slides and a splash pad. With comfortable rooms, convenient amenities, and a prime location, Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground was perfect for our Disney stay.
The hotel offers comfortable and spacious rooms that are perfect for families and groups of all sizes. We stayed in their renovated room in Building 2 and we loved our stay. Each room features a flat-screen TV, complimentary Wi-Fi, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and a coffee maker. Additionally, the hotel offers a variety of room options, including standard rooms with two queen beds, family suites with bunk beds and a separate living area. Guests can also request connecting rooms for larger families or groups. If you’re lucky, you can see the Disney fireworks from your hotel room! You can also walk towards the garden pool area and watch the fireworks.
The queen beds were perfect for two people and were really comfortable. I loved the spacious washroom and the two sinks were handy to have. We stayed at Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground for six nights and were always excited to end the night at the hotel. It was the perfect place to call home during our Anaheim vacation.
The hotel has a fantastic water playground, Castaway Cove, which features a pirate ship, water slides, and a splash pad, perfect for kids and adults! The hotel also boasts an outdoor pool and a hot tub, providing additional options for swimming and relaxation. After a long day at Disney, it was nice to take a midday break and cool off at Castaway Cove.
The hotel has an on-site restaurant, Mimi’s Cafe, which serves “American dishes in colorful, French New Orleans – inspired atmosphere.” There is also a convenience store that opens daily where you can purchase snacks, drinks, and Disney gifts + souvenirs, including Loungefly and Park Candy! Additional amenities include complimentary Wi-Fi, and on-site paid parking.
The Howard Johnson by Wyndham Anaheim Hotel & Water Playground is conveniently located just steps away from Disneyland Resort. The hotel was the perfect location for our family. Every morning, we walked approximately 10 minutes to Disneyland. If we were tired that afternoon, we would walk back to the hotel to relax. We would typically head to Disneyland later in the evening where we stay until closing. This was perfect for us and we appreciated having the hotel so close by.
