Gifted Experience from Tourism Harrison River Valley, Sandpiper Resort and Harrison Eco Tours. All opinions are my own.

Nestled on the shores of Harrison River, Sandpiper Resort in Harrison Hot Springs proved to be the perfect escape for our family. In this blog post, we are excited to share our experience at this hidden gem.

About the Cabin

Our experience at the Kermode cabin in Sandpiper Resort was truly exceptional. The cabin was extremely comfortable for a family of four – featuring three bedrooms with queen-size beds and two full bathrooms. The spacious living area, with a wood-burning fireplace, created a cozy atmosphere. It was perfect for unwinding from the daily grind and routine. They have a lovely dining space and full kitchen, with a Nespresso Vertuo coffee machine, which came in handy when we wanted a nice warm drink. The large windows allowed us to wake up to stunning views of the river and mountains each morning. The large patio had a barbecue, and provided an excellent space to walk outside to enjoy the scenic view. From the patio, we were able to see many eagle sightings, making for an incredible and unforgettable experience. The cabin’s rustic charm with modern amenities, was the perfect family retreat.

Whether you’re seeking a cozy cabin for a romantic getaway or a spacious unit for a family retreat, the resort has a variety of options. • The Rustic Classic Cabins: honoring the original owners’ family history, these cabins provide a retreat with deep soaker tubs for two, wood-burning fireplaces, and panoramic views of the Harrison River and mountains.
  • Colonial Inn Rooms: step into the early 1900s with the historical colonial inn rooms – each named after the original owners, The Pretty’s.
  • The Woodland Cabins: each named after the surrounding trees, these 1-bedroom cabins offer a unique experience featuring cedar barrel tubs for deep soaks, embracing the Japanese Ofuro bathing practice. Handmade in Canada with sustainable red cedar, these tubs provide a harmonious connection with nature.
  • Rowena’s Inn on the River: for a touch of 1920s charm, Rowena’s Inn on the River offers themed manor accommodations, inviting guests to experience Step Back in Time fireside dining and Whiskey Business Nights on select Thursday evenings.

Each lodging option at Sandpiper Resort promises a distinctive and immersive stay, combining history, nature, and modern comforts.

Amenities

Sandpiper Resort offers many amenities that enhanced the overall experience of our stay. We loved their on-site restaurant, River’s Edge Clubhouse. We had breakfast and dinner at the restaurant and our family enjoyed it each time. The resort has been recognized as one of the most picturesque 18-hole golf courses in British Columbia. Even though we didn’t go golfing, when we walked by the golf course, it was beautiful and there were many people golfing. The outdoor pool, unfortunately closed during our visit, would likely be a great spot for families when it’s open. We did enjoy the Eagle Viewing Trail that winds through the forest, leading to a waterfront viewing gazebo where we saw so many eagles flying and perched on trees! It’s around a 20 minutes walk and saw many families with younger kids going on this trail.

Other amenities include:

  • Free Parking
  • Wi-Fi Access
  • Pet Friendly Units

Whether seeking a peaceful retreat or an adventure in nature, Sandpiper Resort’s location provides the perfect backdrop for a memorable getaway.

Those looking to check out Harrison Hot Springs will be glad to know that it is only a 20 minutes drive from the resort. After breakfast, we headed to Harrison Village to walk around to view the Lights by the Lake, did the Bald Eagle Viewing Boat Tour with Harrison Eco Tours, dined at Muddy Waters Cafe for lunch, and got some candy apples from Harrison Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.

Our family stay at Sandpiper Resort, Harrison Hot Springs, was nothing short of magical. The combination of breathtaking scenery, lovely accommodations, good food, and fun activities for the family made this a memorable getaway. Whether seeking relaxation or adventure, Sandpiper Resort proved to be a great spot for families looking to create lasting memories. We left feeling refreshed and grateful for the wonderful experience at this hidden gem.
