Carousel Theatre for Young People, Vancouver International Children’s Festival, and Zee Zee Theatre present the world premiere of Vancouver playwright Dave Deveau’s The Papa Penguin Play, at Granville Island’s Waterfront Theatre (1412 Cartwright St), from May 15-June 2, 2024.
Inspired by the true story of two male penguins who are gifted an egg at New York’s Central Park Zoo, the playful and imaginative work follows a pair of penguin fathers and their zoo keeper friend as they navigate the delightful chaos of throwing a first birthday party. The colourful play features puppetry, drag performance, and show-stopping musical numbers. A Carousel Theatre for Young People, Vancouver International Children’s Festival, and Zee Zee Theatre Co-Production.

Join us for the 3rd Annual Big Jungle Run taking place at Burnaby Lake Saturday 25th May. Suitable for all ages and abilities including strollers and leashed dogs. This themed run offers a 5km/10km Run/Walk (2pm) as well as a 1km Kids Run/Walk (1pm) around scenic Burnaby Lake Park. Explore the trails, enjoy a DJ, prize giveaways, vendors and more.
The Big Jungle Run tours beautiful Burnaby Lake Park. Starting on the all-weather pitch, the course winds its way along trails surrounded by green foliage. With minimal inclines and stable paths, everyone is assured a beautiful and stress-free run/walk. The route is for all ages and abilities. Pet & Stroller Friendly!

Join us for the 4th edition of the Big Superhero Run on August 14th!
This superhero themed fun run offers a 5km & 10km Big Superhero Run/Walk (7pm) as well as a 1km Run/Walk (6pm). The Big Superhero Run tours Richmond’s picturesque Middle Arm Trail. The course winds its way along trails lining the inlets of the Fraser River and the shores of the Strait of Georgia, with views of Vancouver Island, the North Shore mountains and local wildlife.
With minor inclines, paved trails and gravel tracks, everyone is assured a beautiful and stress-free run or walk. The route is suitable for all ages and abilities. Pet and Stroller Friendly

Join us for the Third Annual Big Pirate Run taking place at Garry Point Park Sunday 22nd September 2024.
Suitable for all ages and abilities including strollers and leashed dogs.
This themed run offers a 5km/10km/15km and 21.1km (half marathon)
Big Pirate Run/Walk (8:30/9am) along The West Dyke and Middle Arm Trail’s,
as well as a 1-3km Little Pirate Run/Walk (10:00am) around scenic Garry Point Park.
Run with your ship mates, enjoy door prize giveaways, vendors and more.
The Big Pirate Run tours picturesque West Dyke and Middle Arm Trail’s.
Starting at Garry point park, the course makes it way North, passing sights including Terra Nova Park, The Richmond Olympic Oval and you may even catch some planes landing at YVR!
With minimal inclines and stable gravel trails, everyone is assured a beautiful and stress-free run/walk. The route is for all ages and abilities. Pet & Stroller Friendly!
