Harrison Hot Springs has always been one of our favourite little getaways from the hustle and bustle of city life. It was actually our first trip as a couple 20 years ago and now we love to bring our little family there. We love that Lakeview Restaurant (where we ate fish & chips so many years ago) is still there, and a couple of shops down, we can find our favourite gelato shop. Our kids are now familiar with the area, but there’s still many things we haven’t tried. We are excited to share our list of favourite activities at Harrison Hot Spring, plus a few that we can’t wait to go back and try.
Driving up to Harrison Hot Springs, we stopped by Bridal Veils Falls. It’s an easy, scenic 15 minutes trail walk to the waterfalls. The waterfall is breathtaking and great for photos!
You can spend a day doing watersports! There’s a variety of fun sports you can do. At Harrison Watersport, you can rent:
If you’re looking for a boat, you can go to Killer’s Cove Boat Rentals for:
The kids can stay forever on the beach. I love the soft sand, but be warned, the water is quite cold. Even so, the kids had fun playing and relaxing on the beach.
There is also a playground near the beach which was really nice, and their swings were right in front of the lake.
We love walking around Harrison Hot Spring and just exploring the little shops and eateries. The kids love getting snacks and ice-cream as we walk and explore.
If you’re at Harrison Hot Springs, you’re likely wondering where are the hot springs. You can access five private pools at Harrison Hot Springs Resort if you’re staying at the hotel, or you can go to the indoor hot spring Public Pool. Unfortunately, the Public Pool is currently closed, but you can check the website for updated information: https://tourismharrison.com/listing/hot-springs-public-pool/
We tried this with the kids and had fun. We did this after dinner and the streets were pretty quiet. It was a different way to explore Harrison. For more information: https://www.angelfire.com/bc/quadracycles/
Harrison has so many great spots to go hiking. There are also other beautiful lakes around Harrison you can drive to as well. We haven’t explored the hiking trails and lakes around Harrison, but I always heard there’s a lot of great places for it.
I love how the food scene has not changed much since the first time we visited Harrison. We love going to the Lakeview Restaurant by the beach side, ordering pizza at Village Pizzeria, eating dinner at Black Forest Steak and Schnitzel House and getting gelato at Chantilly Gelato & Cafe. We also tried Maison D’ la, Poutine House for yummy poutine and donuts.
There are many things to do at Harrison Hot Springs and these are just a few of things that we liked. Hopefully this post will give you some ideas of things to do there. As this is our first “Explore BC” blog, we can’t wait to share more as we explore BC.
