It’s hard to believe that we’ve been living through a pandemic for such a long time now and in that time, we haven’t been outside of BC. We were determined to go somewhere this summer, so we decided that our first adventure would be Seattle to celebrate our oldest child’s birthday. Though we had stayed at Embassy Suites by Hilton before, this was our first time staying at Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square. When I booked the hotel, I mentioned it was my son’s birthday. When we got to the room, they surprised him with a box of cupcakes, chocolates and a birthday card. It was a sweet surprise. The hotel, the service, the location and the view were amazing and we were so happy with our stay.

About the Room

Our two queen beds suite was on the 22nd floor and had the most gorgeous view of Seattle. We could see the water, Pike market, and the Seattle Great Wheel. The suite was spacious with a separate sitting area and bedroom. Our room had two queen beds, a microwave, a small fridge, a table with 3 chairs, and a full sofa set. The washroom was huge with lots of counter space and a walk in shower. The hotel was very clean and the beds were really comfortable. We all had a good night sleep – especially after looking at the night sky view of Seattle from our room.

For those visiting with a group of friends or family, there’s the ability to connect your rooms together.

Amenities

The Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square fitness centre is next level. Their fitness centre is enormous and has top notch fitness equipment. It wasn’t too busy while we were there, so you’ll never have to wait for a machine.

The kids’ favourite was (of course) the swimming pool and hot tub. The pool had a lovely skyline view with windows all around! Having a pool in the hotel is really important to us, but a nice pool makes it even better! The pool was 3.5 feet throughout which was the perfect level for the little one to walk around. This made swimming easier as she was free to roam around the pool, without us worrying that she’d wander off to the deep end. For those that just want to lounge around (or read a book) while their children play in the pool, there are a lot of comfortable chairs all over the pool area.

One of the major highlight of the hotel is their complimentary made-to-order breakfast and evening reception. I have been to quite a few hotels that offered complimentary breakfast before, but Embassy Suites Seattle Downtown Pioneer Square’s breakfast was quite impressive. They had a coffee and juice station, six different types of cereals, selection of pastries including bread, muffins, loaves, hot food section including bacon, sausages, eggs, potatoes french toast, and made-to-order omelettes. During the evening reception, they have a table of snacks and fruits as well as a bar where you can get cocktails and pop. The kids loved ordering Shirley Temples.

Other amenities include:

  • connecting room
  • paid parking area
  • non-smoking rooms
  • business centre
  • meeting rooms
  • two dining options: 13 Coins and Zephyr Bar

Location

The hotel is situated in the trendy, historic Pioneer Square district. It’s close to the King Street Station, Lumen Field Sports and Events Stadium and only a few minutes walk to Chinatown. We enjoyed walking around the area and discovering new spots to eat. Here are a few places you can walk to from the hotel:
